Who is Kenny “Black Diamond” Mokhonoana?
Born on January 20, 1997, Kenny is a 6ft Featherweight fighter with a 73-inch reach, representing both Ireland and the UK. Fighting out of SBG Ireland, he’s built a reputation as a relentless competitor with a professional record of 5 wins and 3 losses with all his victories coming by way of knockout or submission. No judges needed.
Kenny’s fighting style is explosive yet precise: sharp on the feet, aggressive on the ground, and always on the attack. As he puts it:
“On the ground, I’m always attacking… on feet I’m hard to hit and read… sharper everywhere and more tricky than him.”
The nickname Black Diamond couldn’t be more fitting: unbreakable, sharp, and forged under pressure.
The Journey So Far
Kenny’s path hasn’t been easy. With an amateur record of 11–6 starting back in 2015, he ground out the early years before turning pro in 2021. His arrival was explosive: five straight first-round finishes (four submissions and one knockout) announced him as a fighter to watch.
His big moment came at Bellator Dublin in September 2022, when he submitted Alex Bodnar in the first round with a guillotine choke. The 3Arena erupted, and Kenny’s raw post-fight emotion summed it up perfectly:
“I love ya, Bleedin deadly yiz are!”
That fight wasn’t just a win, it was a declaration. As Kenny himself said:
“It’s been in my head wanting to fight in the 3Arena for years… fighting in front of friends and family … pressure makes diamonds.”
